Richard Lewis was our guest speaker on Photographing the New Jersey Pinelands.  After covering the what and where of the Pine Barrens, Richard presented a series of beautiful photographs, creatively arranged in order of time of day.  He emphasized that composition is different when the subject is a flat landscape, wider than it is tall.

Our second open digital competition of the season was judged by Steven Yahr.  Steven said if you want to succeed in a competition you need to think like a judge.  He provided twelve elements that judges look for (in order of priority):  Impact, Creativity, Technical Excellence, Composition, Lighting, Style, Presentation, Center of Interest, Subject Matter,

Congratulations to Sharon Edwards , Barbara Eggermann , Carol Petscavage  and Jeff Pollitzer for receiving Honorable Mentions at the NJFCC Winter Pictorial competition, hosted by RPS.  Results are the sum of scores from three judges (Andrew Darlow, Greg DeAngelis and Vicki DeVico), there is no commentary.  20% of submission receive awards.  There were three categories
