Wild About Wildlife (1/8/26)

David DesRoches gave a very informative talk about wildlife.  He emphasized the need to be an ethical photographer.  Don't disturb the animals or birds, don't bait them, don't cause any stress.  Use a long lens, although a wide angle can occasionally provide unique views.  Do what you can to get it right in the camera first.  Fast shutter speed, sunlight (and wind for birds) at your back, focus on the head and the all important catchlight in the eye.  Good wildlife photography requires the 4 Ps - Preparation, Patience, Persistence and Practice.  Learn the characteristics and behaviors of your subject, go where they are often found and be prepared to spend plenty of time to get the best shots.
