Our judge, Alan Bogard, enjoyed seeing creativity in images. Try a unique perspective, a dynamic angle or a different crop. If an image is symmetrical make sure it's cropped that way all around, particularly at the corners. We know to remove distracting elements, but also remove those that don't necessarily distract but also don't add to the image. Vignettes are useful to downplay distractions and draw the eye to the main subject.
