Our judge for the Open (no theme) competition was Jennifer Khordi. Jennifer is the founder of New Jersey Photographers on Facebook. Here are some key insights from the competition. Photos need a focal point, something that draws the viewer's interest. Sometimes it is necessary to crop more tightly to create that focal point. Other times, more space is needed in a photo to avoid centering the object of interest and instead follow the rule of thirds. Some photos are more powerful in black & white than color and it's worth a check to see which appears more engaging.
