| The Raritan Photographic Society meets twice each month from September to May. The meeting on the second Thursday of the month is at the East Brunswick Public Library on Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, 7:30-10:00 p.m. These are our photographic competition meetings. Paid-up members submit black-and-white prints, color prints, and color slides or color digital images. Entries are scored and discussed by judges who come to us from the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs (NJFCC), the Photographic Society of America (PSA), or local photographic or artistic establishments. From the judges' comments, the members who compete and those who observe the process learn a great deal about what makes for a good picture. The pictures in the competition may be developed and printed either by the photographer or by commercial operations. |

The meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month (except December) start at 7:45 p.m. and are held at East Brunswick High School. These meetings consist of lectures, demonstrations, discussions, or activities, such as a studio night. Programs are designed to help the members learn the basics of photography, new techniques for taking pictures, or applications of photography. Sometimes we look backward to the history of photography; sometimes we look forward to where the art and science are going. The Raritan Photographic Society also conducts occasional photographic field trips to locations of interest. Annual dues are $35 for one person; $60 for a family. |
